Forgiveness for ity in islam? Muslim only?

uality is a greater sin and will go to hell for sure. But if a person commit acts in early teen age mistakenly because of the environment and later apologies for that and stays straight and follow the path of islam will he be forgiven ? Or it is a kind of sin for which there is no mercy? If you are not muslim please don't answer
